Connecting Knowledge and People
You know, it’s so easy to see just our immediate work area and forget about other possibilities, a bigger picture. Some people may think:
· I’m not a creative person
· It’s not my job to be creative – that’s the job of marketing or R&D
· If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?
· I don’t have the time to be creative
· Nobody listens to my suggestions
You have two choices – you can either have change happen to you, or you can make change happen to your benefit. Which would you prefer to control?
You see, everyone has something to contribute – even those with opposing views and it’s worth seeking these people out, as you never know when and where creativity sparks.
When was the last time you had a brilliant idea whilst sitting somewhere on your own? When a group of you came up with a brilliant solution?
One of the areas I work in is known as Knowledge Bridging often used in the Biotech industry. You may or may not be aware of the concept: Knowledge Bridging is using ideas from one technical domain to innovate in another – whether internally or externally. I do this by:
· Connecting knowledge and people
· Seeing patterns and connections to create new knowledge and approaches
· Expanding possibilities people can envisage (creating more openness)
· Finding opportunities via research, and then exploring and exploiting them to find solutions
· Being a catalyst, increasing people’s resourcefulness and capabilities
The outcomes of this approach include:
· New knowledge and approaches are created
· Creativity, insights, strategies and aligned action
· Team spirit – more openness, respect and non-judgemental behaviour
· Open minded-ness – not being bound by previous experience and knowledge
So, where is this useful? For instance…
· New business products and services – from making connections with people within and outside your organisation. After all, no-one has the monopoly on creativity. It’s within everybody, and usually just needs a helping hand to come out.
· Increased Sales – would it be useful to you connect with your customers, to speak so they clearly understand you and to know what they really want and then get them to the point that rather than you having to sell, they just want to buy?
And I work for you when I’m not working for you because what you want is then on my radar and so I’m constantly seeking knowledge, people, opportunities, ideas and connections that may be useful to you, and feed these back to you.
I work from a session on, say, creative thinking, or a programme of workshops and 1-2-1 coaching to working in house with a team or teams over a longer period of time to generate new ideas for products and then bringing them to fruition. And the outcome is always you being more resourceful, creative and capable than you thought was imaginable.
And if you want to experiment with this before we connect:
· Just for a day, take on the belief that everyone has something to offer and seek out different views, ideas, knowledge, knowing that you don’t have to take anything on
· Share your thoughts and ideas and listen to others in an open and non-judgemental way
· Be open to the ‘how’ of it
· Follow your intuition
· ‘Hold’ ideas without censorship or criticism. Let them ‘cook’
· And just notice what you notice

As everything I do is bespoke – just as no two teams or businesses are the same – we work together to create a programme that works just for you, ranging from a single creative session to a programme lasting several months. I also work in-house as part of a team creating or developing and implementing a specific project or business programme.
I always like to do follow-up coaching as the value of your investment increases by a further 300% with just a couple of follow-up coaching sessions. And I’m always available as your Coach on Call™ for those moments that you need immediate access to help.
Investment: £975/day (That’s around €1450 or CHF2200)
Personal Coaching
Again, the first thing is to get in touch with me to find out if I’m the right person for you and you for me. If I’m not, then I’ll put you in touch with someone who would be just the right person. As everyone is different, with coaching it’s very important to get the right fit between the coach and client.
We will usually be working over a 3 to 6 month period having three sessions a month over the telephone lasting around 45 minutes each creating the success you want to have.
And in between sessions, you’re free to contact me for help or advice and for those ‘Oh my God!’ moments that crop up. It’s like having your own personal Coach on Call™!

Investment: £500/month (That’s around €750 or CHF1100)
From my experience, the return on investing in our time together is between 800% and 4500% within 3 months.
